Gradske zidine na ovom potezu, najstariji su dio rimskih obrambenih zidina koje su se tijekom vremena rušile i obnavljale uz razne preinake.
Herkulova su vrata najstariji sačuvani spomenik rimske arhitekture u Puli, izgrađena sredinom I.st.pr.Kr. Na zaglavnom kamenu isklesana je glava Herkula, zaštitnika antičkog grada Pole, i njegova toljaga. Natpis na vratima vjerojatno datira osnutak rimske kolonije Pole oko 45.g.pr.Kr.
Dvojna vrata po stilskim karakteristikama mogu se datirati u kraj I. ili početak II. st.
